10. Jasim Husain Thabet, CEO & Managing Director, TAQA

Recognised as an energy industry veteran with more than two decades of experience, Emirati Jasim Husain Thabet joined TAQA, the largest listed diversified utilities and energy group in the UAE, in July 2020 to head up its operations. Under his leadership, last year, TAQA and its partner companies completed the financial closing of the world’s largest single-site solar power plant, Al Dhafra Solar Photovoltaic Independent Power Producer project, which will supply power to the EWEC using four million solar panels. 

Previously a CEO at the Abu Dhabi Power Corporation, where he leveraged the copany’s diverse portfolio of power and water generation, trasnsmission and distribution assets to transform the power and water sector in Abu Dhabi and beyond. Prior to this, he was CEO of National Central Cooling Company, and over six years successfully pioneered a new mode of sustainable growth, delivering some 24% growth in revenues in the UAE and GCC. 

Her serves as board member at TAQA Group, Abu Dhabi Ports and Emirates Water & Electricity Company. He holds a BsC in Mechanical Engineering.
